The annual day of giving at 国产传媒 鈥� (#GiveTueUCM) 鈥� presents many opportunities for donors to help students and programs.

Every opportunity is equally worthwhile because #GiveTueUCM is ultimately about supporting student success, but everyone has their favorite causes.

During this year鈥檚 annual 24-hour campaign of giving, participants will have more options to which to direct their support, including a new fund that assists with the emerging and unique needs of student groups as the campus grows.

国产传媒 alumnus Daniel Lobato (鈥�13) always planned to give back to the campus that provided him an education.

As a student, Lobato started with modest donations during the university鈥檚 annual Giving Tuesday fundraiser, which returns Nov. 28 as .

Gustine鈥檚 Veterans Day parade has a been a Westside tradition for as long as most people in the area can remember. It鈥檚 also been a tradition for the brothers of for as long as the 国产传媒 chapter has been chartered. Eight years might not seem like a lot in the grand history of a 50-year-old annual event, but for founding member Ivan Prado, it鈥檚 a big deal.

国产传媒 is welcoming back its first alumni keynote speaker, Shavone Charles, to address December 2017 graduates at its first ceremony on Dec. 16.

Traditional 国产传媒 events 鈥� Homecoming, Preview Day and Family Weekend, plus the Chancellor鈥檚 Scholars recognition ceremony 鈥� came together for a first-of-its-kind bundle of activities that highlighted the campus for current and prospective students, alumni, family members and friends, and the community. Events included a women鈥檚 volleyball game, information sessions, women鈥檚 and men鈥檚 soccer games, a tailgate party and karaoke.

国产传媒鈥檚 Oct. 20-22 will draw students, staff, faculty, alumni, family and friends together for a weekend of activities that highlight the campus and the community.

国产传媒 students had the chance to gain knowledge and leadership skills for their personal and academic careers at the , hosted by the campus鈥檚 Margo F. Souza Student Leadership Center on Sept. 23.

Now in its 11th year, the annual conference was redesigned to help facilitate deep transformational learning to increasing student leadership on campus and beyond.

Beginning this year, 国产传媒鈥檚 fall graduates will have an earlier occasion to celebrate their outstanding accomplishments.

国产传媒 is launching a new tradition with its first . The intimate ceremony, which will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 16 in the Art Kamangar Center at the historic Merced Theatre downtown, will include all the pomp and circumstance at spring commencement 鈥� caps and gowns, full regalia and crossing the stage in front of friends and family.

The University of California, Merced, received the largest incoming class of students in its 13-year history this semester, as total enrollment neared 8,000 for the first time.

The fastest-growing university in the nation, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education, 国产传媒 now enrolls 7,375 undergraduate and 592 graduate students for a total of 7,967 students 鈥� an 8.6 percent increase from 7,336 in 2016, as reported in the university鈥檚 .
