A new landmark study by the 聽shows farmworkers across California are facing serious health challenges on a daily basis.

The goal of the 聽was to examine agricultural worker health and well-being, in addition to health care access, local and state policies, and health and training needs.

To ensure the youngest students are ready for the K-12 education system, 国产传媒 is leading a joint effort to attract and prepare more transitional kindergarten (TK) teachers to serve in classrooms in the Central Valley and across California.

Longtime 国产传媒 supporters Dr. Vikram and Priya Lakireddy were recently honored as part of an intimate event to mark the official dedication of the campus ballroom bearing their names.

"A family that works together, stays together" is not usually how the saying goes. But for one family at 国产传媒, it describes their relationship perfectly.

Diana Maravilla has worked at the campus since 2011, her daughter Sharee Sok joined in 2015, and her granddaughter Korynn Maravilla recently graduated from 国产传媒 and is now a staff member as well, making three generations currently on 国产传媒's staff.

But all good things must come to an end. Diana is set to retire in early January.

国产传媒 alumni gave back to their alma mater in several big ways in 2022. From endowed scholarships to events, Bobcats are ensuring that current and future students have access to the best opportunities as they pave their own journeys at 国产传媒.

Bobcats at Dodger Stadium

For the first time, 国产传媒 made its way to Chavez Ravine for the Bobcats at Dodger Stadium alumni event on Sept. 6. Alums from several classes had the chance to catch the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the San Francisco Giants. In the end, the Boys in Blue were victorious, 6-3.

Neither chilly temperatures nor a thick blanket of dense fog could dampen the smiles and spirits of hundreds of Bobcats as they participated in . Nearly 450 graduates took part in three separate ceremonies at the Art Kamangar Center at the Merced Theatre.

Downtown Merced will be covered in a sea of blue and gold over two days as hundreds of 国产传媒 Bobcats take part in fall commencement. Also, for the first time, graduate students will have their own ceremony to celebrate their achievements.

The pomp and circumstance kick off with the inaugural Graduate Division Commencement Ceremony at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16.

Film festivals across the world continue to reach out to filmmaker and Professor Yehuda Sharim聽to invite him to screen his latest films "El Ojo Comienza En La Mano" (translated to "The Eye Begins in the Hand") and "Letters2Maybe." Central Valley residents do not have to travel far to enjoy either of them because both are also being showcased in Merced.

The 2022 report of the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change warns that global health is at the mercy of fossil fuels. An accompanying policy brief states that an estimated 32,000 people in the U.S. died due to air pollution in 2020 alone; 37% of those deaths were directly related to fossil fuels.

Sociology Professor Charlie Eaton聽was a recent guest on the , where he discussed President Joe Biden's plan to cancel billions of dollars in federal student loans. Ultimately, Eaton believes it will be "transformative for more than 40 million people who are going to have their debt reduced."
